Introduction
When it comes to working in the supervisory position, one will face great challenges to keep their group functioning within determined parameters; supervisory positions cover many aspects when it comes to managing a group, and getting them to work as a team. Supervisors need to master certain skills in order to perform their jobs effectively; some would include communication, training skills, support and assistance, providing disciplinary actions, and keeping group cohesiveness, all of which will help their group to achieve successful outcomes in their projects.
Demonstrating Communication Skills
Communication skills would be one of the most important skills a supervisor should master, since it is extremely important that their group fully understands the idea and orders; this would be important whether they are delivered vocally or written. If the communication between a supervisor and worker are misunderstood, various problems can arise; this is especially important when communication involves the overall production of the company. Even though communication is very important from the supervisors end, they must also stress that clear communication from the workers to the supervisor is just as important; the supervisors workers are the people that experience the problems first hand, so they need to be effectively communicate such problems clearly and precisely in order to stay on top of them.
Along with being able to communicate effectively to their group, a supervisor must be able to listen to and understand information given to them; when instructions, ideas, or concerns are discussed, a supervisor must be able to properly understand them so immediate action can be taken.
