Abstract

Strategic contribution is the dimension of HRM that is perhaps most sought yet least understood. Literature is spotted when it comes to the indicators or evidence of strategic contribution within HR departments, and the departments themselves seem to vary in their grasp of the ramifications of embracing such a bold approach towards their function.

This study aims at demystifying some of the ambiguity HR professionals and students face when discussing how HR departments view themselves in relation to strategic orientation.
