Imagine the opportunity to work for a multi-billion dollar company like Wal-Mart, where customers have the assumption that the company profits and achieve goals because they have a supportive management team and a good leader. Then you find the company lacks in some areas where management need to control some activities and leaders need to motivate and encourage the employees in some areas. The success of the business is to have a management team that is aware of the daily business activities. Managers have to master the skills of a manager and a leader so the business can grow and remain healthy. This paper will focus on the difference between management and leadership skills; in the Wal-Mart company. We will also examine the roles and responsibilities that organizational managers and leaders play in creating and maintaining Wal-Mart’s healthy organizational culture, evaluate the effect of globalization and management across borders, and recommend two strategies that organizational managers and leaders at Wal-Mart can use to create and maintain a healthy organizational culture.

Leadership
When someone takes on the position of being a leader but doesn’t set any direction, technically this is not showing leadership. Leadership is setting a new direction or vision for a group that they follow (Bateman & Snell, 2009). Leadership should not be taken lightly because it is an important position in the company. Management controls or directs people and resources in a group according to principles or values that have already been established. When someone is a leader he or she does not have subordinates.
