The country without president.

Bishkek, 8 April - Kyrgyzstan is now the country without President.

Today, on 8 April, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, is in Germany because of Anti-Government protest in which over 40 are killed and over 400 are injured.

Earlier, on 6 April, there was anti-government protest in Talas city. Around 500-3000 protesters stormed regional government office in Talas and choose own gubernator. The main requests were President’s, Kurmanbek Bakiyev’s,retiring and decreasing of basic good’s prices.

On 7 April the Prime Minister, Daniyar Usenov, declared a state of emergency. He also acknowledged that all opposition’s leaders had been caught during the night and were waiting for their punishment.

This news also became the reason of anti-government demonstrations in other parts of the country.

In Narin, Tokmok the number of demonstrators was around 5 000 people, while in capital city, Bishkek, around 10 000 protesters gathered in front of the House of Parliament.

In Bishkek police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and flash grenades at the crowd. More then 60 people were killed and more than 400 were injured.

After this news had been spread out the protesters in Talas killed the Interior Minister Moldomusa Kongantiyev.

Parliament decided to free some of the leaders so they can calm down the protesters. People started to rob supermarkets, burn cars and shops.

The nation of Kyrgyzstan was waiting for the President’s announcement, but there was no information from him or about him till 11p.m. when it was released that he ran out of the country to Germany.

Kyrgyzstan is the country with one of the best strategic positions in Central Asia. It is situated between China, Russia and Kazakhstan. Despite the good location it’s one of the poorest countries after Sovet Union’s break-up in1991.
