Introduction

In the recent decades, the topic about impact of globalisation has been discussed very frequently. The most common definition for globalisation is the tendency of countries trading its good, technology, labor, and capital with another. (Ball et al, 2009) According to Ball et al (2009), the multination company existed long before World War I. But only until recent years, the term globalisation has becoming a hot object for discussion. There has being debates regarding the impact of globalisation to a country. Some argue that globalisation creates opportunities to country’s development. For example access to global market. Others think that globalisation will post threats, like higher level of competition to local companies, to the country. (Greenaway & Gullstrand, 2008) The following essay will compare positive and negative aspect of globalisation in Thailand, focusing the issues regarding Health and Culture.

Globalisation has positively affected Thailand by providing diversity to enrich the culture of Thailand. According to Willoughby (2014), globalisation helps countries to profit from differences situation, resource, and skills. When Thailand started doing global business, it’s likely that big multi-national firms will come to the country looking for expansion. Therefore, Thailand allows the multi-national company to bring in its specialty (ideas, technology, et al) to the country. When those ideas and technology were introduced to the country, the worker form Thailand can learn and adapt these specialist, and use it in its own country to product it own product more efficiently. In this sense, the globalisation helped country to add diversity of culture from other countries. On the other hand, if the country does not have the resource or skill to produce some product, it can trade or exchange those produce with what they have. The trading country can learn about Thailand’s country in return.
