Introduction
In a general perspective, the contemporary culture is a set of popular elements within the society such as arts, music, and architecture. It can also refer to certain political, religious, attitudes and beliefs leading to the trends in the present time (Buckingham, 2013). In the organizational context, the contemporary culture of a firm keeps extensive importance to the business because it turns the organizational status quite distinctive from the outside world. There are numerous forces driving the change in contemporary culture of an organization such as social media, the human business development, and the purpose economy. In a nut shell, it can be gathered that contemporary culture for an organization forms its practices, rituals and the way of doing things which earns the competitive advantage to the company. Research indicates that employees working in the contemporary culture depict more flexible and innovative work-life that hugely impacts on the decision making within an organization (Nash, 2009).
Contemporary culture and performative nature
As discussed earlier, the contemporary culture separates the organization from the outside world. In such consideration, Siebers and Vermeulen (2003) depicted that the social and organizational practices are critically defined by all the organizations and are not just performed without any specific measures. With different kinds of practices, the management modes of practice also differ. The practices may change based on the certain knowledge and skills derived through the rational way.
