My course project will be dealing with a Boxing regimen for a young Boxer for a eight-round fight in the Professional ranks. Because of the fact that the young boxer has a fight on the card of the 10th of December, 2011 the 52-week training plan will be a Monocycle. The hypothetical fighter will be coming off of a transition period of close to four weeks prior to seven months and one week of Preparatory training, with four months of Competitive training in route to his fight date.

The background information on the fighter is that he is a male, eighteen years old, five-feet, eleven inches, and will be coming into the training camp at close to 186 pounds. His fight is slated to be in the Light Heavyweight division, which is outlined with a cut-off weight limit of 175 pounds. So, naturally, the plan is for him to at least drop eleven pounds before the fight, although the overall plan is to safely get him within the weight class by having him somewhere between 170-175 pounds for the weigh-ins.

This will be accomplished by focusing on limiting on his nutritional intake. Even though he will be eating a balanced diet, he will cut out a good majority of fat and sugary foods that would be detrimental to him losing weight. If he wasn't already on a good diet, he will eat 5-6 small meals a day, with the bigger meals being; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast will be mostly limited to foods that are lower in calories, or have portions limited, until he gets into around the 170 pound mark. After he gets near that weight level, it will basically change to a maintenance phase where he will be able to eat just enough to maintain an area around 170-175 pounds. Lunch and Dinner will involve one, 8-ounce piece of meat, poultry, or fish, 1 and ½ cup of rice, and vegetables. The middle snacks will either be two pieces of fruit, or 15-20 gram, low-fat, low-sugar, protein shake.
