EFFECT OF CONFIDENCE ON WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS Abstract This research paper will examine confidence in women entrepreneurs and the effect it has on success in business. Statistics show that men greatly outnumber the amount of women running

businesses. In today society, women now have now have access to the same tools as men so why are there so few women run businesses? Studies show that confidence is the key to success in business. The research paper will strive to find out if women lack the confidence to run their own businesses. In addition, the research paper will also broach the subject that women are raised not to have confidence in entrepreneurial roles. Finally, the research paper will touch on women’s success in leadership roles.

Perhaps more troubling, it appears that the ceiling seems to be self-generated. Statistics show that businesses owned by men outnumber those owned by women by a ratio of three to one. When both education levels and skills are comparable, it stands to reason that the problem is selfimposed. Related studies show that women's self-confidence and self-esteem have a major
