Compare and Contrast Zombies and Pirates

There are a few main differences, and similarities between pirates and zombies. For years people have been comparing zombies and pirates. The arguments will continue to ensue forever and will never have a clear solution or outcome. The burning question that is asked is which one would win in a fight? This question will be explained with a few characteristics that might give one or the other an edge in this war. Pirates and zombies are both humans they have a different reason for killing, and differ in the terms of living.

Around the 1600s pirates were vast in numbers. They chose their paths of looting any ship that crossed their paths. They stole gold, killed people, drank rum, and lived at sea. Traveling the world while striking fear into the lives of the people who dared to travel by sea. Contrary to popular belief of pirates, life aboard ship was often a form of discipline and democracy. The following code of conduct was taken from one 18th century pirate ship and offers interesting insight into pirate affairs. The “Pirates Code of Conduct” (Beard). They have a set of rules that the live by, and it determined what they do or don’t do. Pirates are humans, and have the ability to determine what is right or what is wrong. Pirates can strategize large coordinated assaults. They live at sea and have learned how to manipulate the ocean. Pirates are living breathing people that have lives to live, and dreams to pursue. They have the ability to love, hate, and reason. Sir Francis Drake is one of the most widely known Sea dogs (Pirate). He was Queen Elizabeth’s personally owned pirate, and was used to attack Spanish ships.

Zombie stories have been told in old myths, and are very much alive in the entertainment industry today. They have many different characteristics depending on who is depicting their stories. They walk around mindlessly...
