The healthcare industry human resource manager, like all other industries, is facing various challenges regarding hiring decision. The future of healthcare is vastly headed towards a social media driven industry with the increase of open communication. Michelle McNickle states, “Younger employees, particularly those using social media, have a more open concept of communication. (McNickle, 2013) Therefore, the effort to transform the methods of communication needs to be developed and put into action. Training and development of present and future employees should consistently and continuously be performed. New employees should be required to have knowledge of the most current as well as the previously used communication methods. However, the challenge will be finding employees of all ages that are keeping up with the current electronic technologies. The need for the knowledge of current technology must be clearly stated in the necessary job descriptions.
