Personal Statement

My name is Chunyang Song graduating from Hainan University with a bachelor degree in Accounting in June 2012. I have long admired your esteemed university, and aspire to apply for your renowned accounting program. Perseverance, independence and confidence are the three key words I usually describe myself and believe after finish reading this essay, you will have a further understanding on me and glad to count me in your program.

As far as I am concerned, accounting has obvious regional characteristics, covering Hong Kong accounting standards, American accounting standards, China accounting standards and international accounting standards. Through broad reading, I found I only have a faintest idea about the two mainstream accounting principles IFRS and US GAAP, stimulating me to find out more profound and systematic knowledge in this area. Therefore, in the future, I am longing to apply for your distinguished accounting program, which I believe will play an indispensable part for my career advancement. During my study, huge curiosity drives me to dig into the textbooks deeply while comparison study method as well group discussion method trained me to apply what I have learnt into real practice. Compared with working independently, I tend to choose the way of team cooperation, which I believe will make up the deficiency of our own thought as well as improve working efficiency quickly. Apart from accounting accumulation, I demonstrated my strong self-study ability by acquiring Futures qualification certificate, Securities practice qualification certificate as well as Visual basic certificate, enlightening me to think of accounting from the perspective of economics and finance.

From July of this year, I have studied AICPA, and registered in Maine. Now I am focusing on the learning of FAR and BEC, planning to attend the examination in Guam. By reading your curriculum introduction, I feel that it matches my potentials and will facilitate me...
