Creative event proposal
We approached the event management process in the same manner we would any creative process. Initially we have boiled down our idea, underlining the key aspects we want to achieve hosting it. Evidently the fundamental goal is to create an event which will pass this assignment deadline and criteria, as well as promoting a creative night that will be memorable. Although our original brief had many unforeseen changes over the “nuts and bolts period” we aim to still meet these fundamental goals. From our own experience we can say we have become socially adept from the general gigging circuit in recent months due to boredom of poor branding, lineups and creativity, in this sense we decided on fabricating a night that wouldn’t be a disappointment to any audience. We are also aware that the friday night event scene in London has become filled with general music/pub events provoking people to search for new unique experiences they can’t find any day of the week. Although our budget has limited us, we plan to encompass our creativity into the event to fulfill this need. Our proposition is to present an evening of current upcoming postpunk indie bands accompanied by relevant DJ’S, all on a backdrop of live ink art. Hosted in a regular venue, known for it’s good taste, location and crowd. We will promote it creatively through mediums such as video, Tumblr and Facebook, while branding the images with a punk/grunge theme. Considering our values we made connections at The Lock Tavern in Camden Town, being a reputable venue situated in area where our music would meet demand.
