Childhood Paradise

Back in the days when I was a child, a part where I can tell that how gullible I am, I always believed in fantasies. A question left hanging in my mind, if those things in movie really happen in real life. I remembered the first horror movie I watched when I was a child, I was with my cousins and grandmother, the horror movie ‘Bahay ni Lola’ made a huge impact in my life. Even now I still believe that ghost really exists. It is amazing how the things you see can change you.

I became curious every time I watch movies; I ask myself how they create such beautiful movies. Sometimes I find myself crying, covering my eyes or laughing whenever I watch movies. This is why I am always impressed how the movie connects to the audiences. How they could make someone relate to the movie that easily.

Watching movie became like a tradition in our family. Every Sunday after hearing mass, we would go out to eat somewhere and I always expect us to watch a movie. It is like a weekly routine, we will go to malls trying to watch a movie that is different from the other week. It became a way to bond between my cousins and family. I always love to watch movies with them because I can be myself and don’t mind any awkward reaction from them. It is very funny back then because I always thought that watching movies are free. Every time we watch I would just go inside not worrying anything, but then I just discovered when I was old enough that my parents would always buy the tickets for us. This is the part of my life where most of my weekends were spent.

The movie ‘Cinema Paradiso’ will make you interested; it is a story that has a lot of lessons in life. For me this movie is perfect for everyone because it teaches how life could be. The main character, Toto, experienced ups and downs in his life. In the movie, it is shown how Toto’s life was miserable before he became successful and contented with his life. He became who he is now...
