Moral dilemma by definition from the educational-portal.com is referred to a conflict in which you have to choose between two or more actions and have moral reasons for choosing each action. The interesting thing about it is, based on the person’s morals or what they believe is right or wrong determines the outcome of the dilemma. With that being said, morally what is right or what is wrong is subjective and can vary from case to case.
For example the most recent case questioning morals that has gone viral was the Eric Garner case. In this case, a man was being detained and put in a chokehold by a police officer that caused Garner to suffocate and as a result died an hour later. The moral dilemma here is whether or not the officer was doing his job or taking it overboard. As well as, whether or not the officers involved and present at the time of Mr. Garner’s injuries had done enough to save his life. I believe that the officer was only doing his job up until the point that Mr. Garner stated to the officer that he couldn’t breathe. By law as a trained professional in CPR you are required to perform CPR on a person from the time that they are passed out and continue to do so until the EMT arrives. In this case no one attempted to do so until almost five minutes had gone by and the EMT arrived to the scene. To sum it all up if the police didn’t see him as a “threat” and just as a human being their reasoning and actions would have been different wouldn’t have put this man’s life in danger.
Another moral dilemma that has now been on most of our politicians campaigns is on whether or not a woman should be able to make a...
