Club IT, Part One
Club IT is a downtown music venue that features various types of live music combined with music played by a live DJ. Some of the music played at Club IT includes hip-hop, techno, electronic, and Top 40s. The interior of Club IT has recently been remodeled with high ceilings and high energy lighting that create a high energy and fun setting. Club IT offers a 600 square foot dance floor, will seat 220 people, and offesr not only refreshments but appetizers and short orders. The owners of Club IT, Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada, are pleased with the payoff resulting from the remodeling costs but believe that Club IT could benefit even more if the clubs information management was updated, the club has a limited information system and lacks an information technology department. Adding an information system along with a strategy that will focus on operational effectiveness; Club IT can gain a competitive advantage over competitors and increase profits.
Club IT may have various clientele, depending on what type of music the DJ is playing or what type of band is performing. Although the clientele may prefer different types of music the age range would be very comparable, between the ages of 18 to 35. These are the ages in which a music club would be a trendy, but as a person grows older a setting such as Club IT may seem less pleasing. The main mission of Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada is to operate a profitable club in the most proficient and valuable ways possible. Ruben and Lisa hope to provide a friendly club atmosphere that will fit the clientele’s everyday life and help move toward forming a Club IT community. Club IT has taken actions to move toward these missions such as remodeling the interior of the club to include high ceilings, high energy lighting, and a large dance floor.
