Please prepare a one-page analysis of the case in an outline form for the above the case which was distributed in class. Indicate the key leadership and organizational change issues which you believe merit discussion. 1. What is your assessment of Ron Ventura’s leadership style and his performance over the term of his two-year contract with the hospital? Should his contract be renewed?

As a surgeon, Dr. Ron Ventura is at the top of his field and has a rare natural talent that is recognized by his colleagues. He is also considered the hardest working surgeon in his department and willfully accepts the toughest case without hesitation. He also has the most patients with the lowest rate of complication and unplanned returns. He single handedly improved the reputation of the Cardiovascular Center of Mitchell Memorial Hospital and has increased the Hospital’s revenue over his two-year term. However, Dr. Ventura’s dictator style of leadership has decreased the moral in his department.
