InterClean Career Development Plan Summary

InterClean Corporation has set out to change the cleaning, sanitation, and environmental management industries. InterClean is developing into a team-based sales force that will provide comprehensive packages for diverse clients and industries. As a result, restructuring of the sales department requires the hiring of additional personnel and training for new and existing employees. To ensure programs are aligned with the new strategic direction of InterClean, team and individual training appraisal methods, compensation packages, and benefits also need to be evaluated.

InterClean Job Descriptions and Qualifications

The InterClean sales associates no longer only sell cleaning products but also provide full-service cleaning solutions for organizations in the health care industry. An individual must be able to interact with groups and maintain effective working relationships in a variety of contexts and with people from a variety of backgrounds (Cascio, 2006). InterClean employees must possess hard and soft skills needed to close deals, maintain long-term customer relationships, and effectively solve problems or address customer concerns. In addition to product knowledge, employees must obtain the ability to provide excellent customer service. Individual qualifications include being able to communicate in English, written or verbally (Cascio, 2005). Job descriptions include computer software skills, flexible scheduling, and meeting or exceeding sales quotas (Ngo, 2010). To be successful and have the capability to meet the company’s performance standards, employees must possess these skills.

Based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and work ethics, five new employees were selected. Employee requirements include team participation. Leadership is an asset to the entire company.
