Postmortem Review
One of the most critical steps of any project is the postmortem review. This must be done as soon as possible after the project is complete so that all of the experiences and memories of the process are still fresh and accurate. This review will provide the organization with an analysis and overview of the project, and will help serve as a learning experience for future projects. This review will include what achievements we reached, what unplanned issues arose during the project, pros and cons of the project, and the objectives of the project are reviewed to determine the successful completion of each one.
The two-day training for the New Compliance Project was aimed toward increasing the knowledge of the management to the new policies and procedures that are going to be implemented in our organization. It was also aimed at educating the management on the navigation of the new system, so that they may convey this information to their subordinates. The project manager and the managers that attended the training will be the main focus of this review. The HR department and the IT department will also be included secondary to the trainees.
Upon request of our CEO, all trainees were required to fill out a questionnaire at the end of each training day, to evaluate their opinion of the quality of the training. These questionnaires will be used to help the project management team determine the quality of the training and plan for any necessary changes to improve any future training. In addition to the questionnaires, we will evaluate other documentation as well. This documentation will include; budget, issue logs, project scope, and schedule as well.
