Introduction

The process of organizing and contemplating required activities for goal sustainability is often called organizational planning. With time and properly implemented organizational planning a company will increase profitability, magnification and market share. Most successful organizations claim possession of an organizational development plan. This plan lays out future wickets to success. An organizational development plan, to be implemented correctly, must maintain pertinence and viability of a company. Home Depot is one of the United States’ most recognizable and prosperous companies. With over 30 years since conception, the Home Depot continues to dramatically change throughout the material and production industry. In order for the Home Depot to maintain sustainability, business and research of ever changing markets must be maintained.

The Home Depot

In 1978 the Home Depot was founded by Arthur Blank and Bernie Marcus. The founders had a business focus for the do-it-yourselfer to maintain a one stop shop. The first Home Depot store opened in 1979. From its inception, Home Depot was able to offer some of the best customer service in its industry. The main focus was to aid customers in home improvement projects –from tile, tools, home and garden and construction supply. Home Depot was also a leader in the industry due to the employee training program, educating employees on processes and knowledge with home improvement integration. Home Depot was the first of its kind to give guidance and supply to the ever evolving contractual entity.
