This Essay is to evaluate and analyze the main operations Management issues, identify the main quality issues at McDonalds, and outline the procedures that may be developed to ensure quality. How McDonald’s overcome those operations and quality issues to achieve a successful outcome by implementing the sustainable strategies and techniques into its global business situation to support its competitive operations.

McDonald’s is a fast food service organization having a variety menu of different kinds of breakfasts, burgers, soft drinks and milkshakes, wraps, desserts and salads, serving from drive through services and counter services. Some restaurants even have indoor or outdoor playgrounds in McDonald’s around suburban and city area. It’s the leading global foodservice organization in 117 countries with over 60 million people serves daily in over 32,000 restaurants. More than 75% of McDonald's restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent local men and women (McDonald.com, 2010) with global infrastructure and competencies in restaurant operations, marketing and franchising.

The unofficial business first began in 1940 by Dick and Mac McDonald in California, with the official first McDonald’s restaurant opening in 1955 in Illinois America, founded by Ray Kroc (McDonald’s annual, 2009). Since then, McDonald’s has expanded into worldwide markets which become a symbol of globalization with the currently promotion of “I’m loving it”. McDonald’s vision is to be the “world’s best quick service restaurant experience” (Zuber, 2001), which involves running a restaurant that provides excellent quality, service, cleanliness and value. McDonald’s also introduced McCafes because of the high demand trend for coffee shops, this is an example of how well accomplished the organization is.

To sum up, McDonald’s has become the largest chain in fast food restaurants worldwide.
