Current Rodenticide
- I focused on pellets that came in “packs” because they “work best in locations that need to be protected from contamination or moisture until the rodents find and consume it.” I checked a few different sites to confirm prices were roughly similar.
- I looked at three different products:
o Talon-G Pellets Rodenticide (140 pack pail costs US$67.79 [US$0.48 per pack])
o Generation Rodent Pellet Packs (100 pack pail costs $80.00 [US$0.80 per pack])
o Quintoz Mouse seed (100 pack pail costs US$51.99 [US$0.52 per pack])
- For calculations I will use the least expensive product, as it is assumed the UN would be looking for the most inexpensive product, given that governments primarily fund the organization.
- You are supposed to spread 1 pack per 8-30 foot distance (less for mice, more for rats).
- “You will see dead rodents within the first week but you should replace rodent bait every 10 days until you are sure you've gotten them all to ensure freshness. “ (http://store.parsonspestcontrol.com/talon-g-rodenticide-packets.aspx ), others suggest 3-4 days (http://www.hacco.com/Rodenticide_SupLabels/Local%20Needs%20Labels/AK-03-0001.pdf).
- According to CEFIC, most rodenticide has a 5 year expiration
Our “successful trial” could have been with Lutheran World Federation

- LWF/DWS has been working in the 3 camps since October 2007, by the request of the UNHCR to take charge of: camp management, safety and security, and planning & layout
- Could say the test resulted in positive meetings with UN officials, who asking us to do a broader test
Camps:
*Note – for perimeters I am assuming a square shape
*Note – I will use max 1 pack per 30 feet assumption
30 feet = 9.14400 meters
Ifo
- 84,600 people
- 9.5 km2 or 9,500,000 m2
- Perimeter = 12,329 m
o Would require 1,349 –...
