Three Day Diet Analysis
SCI/241
University of Phoenix Axia College
How does your diet compare to the recommendations you received from the Food Guide Pyramid? How many servings from each food group did you consume?
My diet needs improvement. According to the food guide pyramid I need more milk, fruit and vegetables in my diet. I need to lower my total fat and saturated fat intake.
The food guide recommends on a daily basis;
7 ounces of grains and I am consuming 6.5 ounces,
2 cups of fruit I consumed none,
3 cups of vegetables I consumed 1.8 cups,
6 ounces of meat and beans I consumed 5.3 ounces,
3 cups of milk I consumed 0.4 cups.
How might you modify your diet to get the recommended servings for each food group? What are some nutrient-rich foods that you could add to your daily diet?
I could add fruit to my breakfast or as a snack and I could drink milk with more meals.
I could add whole wheat bread instead of white. I could choose a cereal high in fiber.
