Arab culture is the complex, including the religious, art, food aspects and general attitude towards life values in the Arab World. It is very important to have deep understanding of all these issues before making analysis of the Arabic popular culture.
Popular culture, by itself, may be considered as the culture of the modern society. It is determined in the TV shows, Music, Cinema, Arts, publishing industries and other related fields, which exist in the society.
In our research we would like to make emphasis on the national literature: it is obvious that THE ARABIAN NIGHTS are the literature masterpiece of Arabic literature. The Arabian Nights, a collection of stories, is world-known and actual in all historical periods. All the stories have been orally transmitted during several centuries before completing the collection, and all of them are considered as the cultural heritage of the Arabic culture.
The collection was adapted and imitated by such popular writers as Johann Wolfang von Goethe, William Wordsworth, and Rainer Maria Rilke; its main issues were conveyed in Gustave Doré drawings and in Nikolai Rimski-Korsakov and Carl Maria von Weber musical compositions. Nowadays there are The Arabian Nights TV series, produced by Sagar Films (Pvt. Ltd.)
Because all the stories are based on life, mythology and legends, it is possible to outline three main types of The Arabian Nights stories: heroic, adventurous and picaresque stories.
In Arabian Nights stories contain such topics of human life as love fate, devotion, happiness, death and immortality are presented. The storey collection provides readers with an opportunity of getting advice on how to live in the world, which contains both positive and negative aspects, good and evil. It is presented in the form of contrasting good rulers to tyrannical ones, witches to the magicians and good demons to bed ones.
