I. SUMMARY

The Bits and Pieces International Corporation (BPIC), an injection molded plastic products manufacturer, became a fast-growing company within a span of four (4) years. Due to its company’s market potential they have decided to expand by means of adding new product, the tissue holder. In order to do so, they need to improve its facilities including land, building, machinery and equipment, thus additional manpower is required.

II. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

BPIC will undergo expansion that is why they proposed an additional manpower which lack quantities per position in accordance with the target product capacity they wanted to meet.

III. ALTERNATIVE COURSE OF ACTION

Because manpower requirement is highly considered in expansion, the company must provide larger quantity within each position that will be added to their organizational chart. Hiring more helpers that will be assigned in the production line will be very useful in expediting the company’s manufacturing procedure because segregation and distribution of products over time will also increase, thus profit margin will be pull up as well.

IV. JUSTIFICATION OF CHOSEN ALTERNATIVE

Given that they are targeting greater profits than their previous sales they must considered that higher production capacity is inclined not only in an increase in land, building, machinery and equipment but most importantly on the people that will manipulate everything during its operation phase. It is obvious that an increased in number of machineries and equipment is directly proportional to an increased in manpower requirement because plant’s personnel are the ones responsible in operating those as well. If expansion in land and in production capacity is being proposed, then provision of adding additional quantities for every position/designation must be highly emphasized in the company’s proper business handling and management.
