Introduction:

PCS is one of the leading cartons making company of the UK. It not only makes standardized cartons but is mainly involved in making customized window cartons according to the needs of the customers. The company is also indulged in the processing of various other products like drip mats and are also distributors of imported wines. The reason for the company for making all these products is to increase its gross profit. But manufacturing these various products means that the company has to manage their marketing strategy appropriately keeping the sales of each of their products in mind. This is importing as losses in any of the above mentioned processes can reduce the overall company's profit.

In the late 1980's the PCS company was taken over by Stebro Industries, an umbrella group concerned with food processing, waste disposal, paper and carton making. Carton making was a highly competitive business between 250 companies.
