Introduction

Hugh McCauley COO of Riordan Manufacturing has issued a service requested to integrate the existing variety of HR tools into a single integrated application. This new system will be effecting all plant locations and aims for Riordan to take advantage of a more sophisticated, state-of-the-art, information systems technology within the Human Resources department. The expected outcome will define the business requirements for the development of an HR system to support the objective of this request. The objective is to create a detailed system design and a project implementation plan required to complete the project. The project should be completed in approximately six months, so that the new system can be utilized in the second quarter of next year (University of Phoenix, 2011). This paper will serve the purpose of laying out the ground work to meet the service request filed by Hugh McCauley, COO of Riordan Manufacturing. Within the paper I intend to accomplish the following goals, explain what key stakeholders within Riordan will provide the needed requirements for the service request, explain the different information-gathering techniques and system analysis tools that will be used for the length of the project, identify what key factors help to ensure that the information required for the project is successfully obtained, explain the scope of the project and why it is important, and finally describe the areas of project feasibility that are examined in the analysis phase of the Systems Development Life Cycle or SDLC.
