Subject : Group progress in learning Business Communication

After a series of practices, the group has been able to use proper English as a tool for business communication. Each member of the group has the capacity to develop confidence and expertise in composing effective business communication.

Work Completed

Learning business communication is very challenging. The group was encouraged to speak English more than Indonesian-which the member’s are already familiar with. Therefore, practices are the key figure in learning business communication in English. The excitement of the group members to practice has become the strength.

The group was honored to be the first presenter of the lecture. The presentation on ‘Adapting Your Message to Your Audience’ was made in one night and was well executed. Confidence and team work were shown during the presentation. After the presentation was completed, the group’s task was easier such as working on assignments and individual paper on business. The assignments were completed by dividing the tasks. Each member was working on different questions then combines it before submitting it to the lecturer. In this way, the assignments were done faster. Most of the assignments were finished in this method.

During the group assignments, there was individual task to compose a paper on any business topic. The paper was submitted before the final meeting. The paper was made to measure the individual development during the lecture.

Problems such as comprehension and grammar were the main obstacles. However, the group solved this problem by discussion with the other students as well as consultation with the lecturer.

After getting enough materials, the members of the groups were finally able to compose a business paper although some haven’t submitted...
