My Wife and Kids

The television sitcom I decided to write about is “My Wife and Kids.” This show stars Damon Waynes and Tisha Campbell-Martin. This show is based on a husband and wife who have three adorable kids: Junior, Claire and Katie. I based my observation on the sole propriety that this is the average family size and each situation on this show can be matched with real world situations. On the recent show Junior, the eldest, has graduated from college and he has been given the dream graduation gift of a lifetime, to go to Japan for the summer in order to enhance his artist capabilities. Junior is very excited and looks forward to going. He tells his parents he is going to run this good news by the love of his life, Vanessa. His parents tell him that this is a dream of a lifetime and if Vanessa is not thrilled to hear that he is going then she just may not be the girl for him. He takes up for her and tells his parents he knows she will be thrilled. Later on that night, Michael (Damon) and Jay (Tisha) snuck out of the house for a romantic getaway at the public park. When they arrived back at home the kitchen light was on and they went to see who was in the kitchen. It was Vanessa and Junior sitting at the kitchen table discussing the opportunity he was given earlier by his parents. He told his parents that he and Vanessa have been doing some talking and that he has decided not to go to Japan. His parents asked him why, he replied sadly, “she’s (Vanessa) pregnant.

Even though this was hurtful news to his parents they pulled it together and made a vow to help Junior become a well-organized father before the child was born. This is a prime example of how I believe family should pull together in time of need. They could have scorned him and cut him off entirely but they decided to be the best grandparents and role models they could be. Since they had Junior young they understood how hard it would be to be a teenage mom and dad. A family that prays together...
