Recently I have been plagued by a rash of dry skin on my right hand that has hampered me in different situations from my work life to my home life. This has been an ongoing problem that has reached a critical point and it needs to be addressed. The symptoms that I suffer from are dry skin that doesn’t seem to respond to lotion or other home remedies. At times the skin becomes extremely dry and cracks causing bleeding and extreme pain. This has become a problem especially at night time and often ends with blood on sheets and pillow cases. I have decided to take a proactive approach to this problem by conducting research that will help me to solve this problem once and for all.

I decided that this best course of action would be to research this aliment with the same curiosity that I would a subject like computer networking, which is one of my favorite subjects. My first step was to contact my physician for advice and to make an appointment to be seen. I made the appointment but this would take two days before I could be seen by the doctor so I turned to my second option, research on the Internet. The purpose of the Internet research would be to determine if I had typical dry skin, or if there was a more serious problem at hand. I then took notes of the condition of my skin and the feelings that I had when the suffering was the best and the worst. I took these notes to the Internet and found information that I believed pertained to my case and when I reached my conclusion and did something I had not planned on. I had some extra time before my doctor’s appointment so I went to the library to double check my findings. I had my day with my doctor on Thursday and she came to the same conclusion that I had come to through my research. I had a fungus infection on my fingers that would require medication.
