Dalman and Lei’s discussion on the expanding of Sandwich Blitz Inc. introduced pros and cons of the situation at hand. For Dalman and Lei to fully understand and make the better decision to expand or to not expand, a SWOT analysis is of precedence and crucial. According to Bateman and Snell (2013), a SWOT analysis is “an assessment of the organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats” (p.103). This analysis will assist Dalman and Lei in their discussion.

First, the strengths of the organization will be analyzed. In the discussion between Dalman and Lei, Lei mentions that they have the resources available for them to expend. This is a major strength to have when it comes to expanding their franchise. Another strength is customer loyalty. Sandwich Blitz Inc. has already established and good standing with their current customers that assure them business. One last important strength is that Dalman and Lei both have created a sturdy foundation for their organization.

Second, the weaknesses of the organization will be analyzed. Dalman and Lei biggest issue is time management. This can hurt the business if they expand. Dalman’s time is dedicated mostly to assisting manager’s issues and Lei’s time is dedicated to supervision and assisting with accounting tasks. As of now, Dalman and Lei have been able to manage Sandwich Blitz with this technique. However, it is a concern that they will not be able to continue this with an expansion.

Third, the opportunities of the organization will be analyzed. If Dalman and Lei decide to expand Sandwich Blitz Inc., this would introduce an enhanced customer base. By enhancing customers, sales would then increase as well. Another opportunity is expanding their market in locations that do not already have what Sandwich Blitz Inc. can offer.
