Answer: In this case we see some factors that are affected target’s customer. The actors are (1) Competitors (2) customers and (3) publics. Now we will discuss about how the factor are affected. . How they are affected in micro environment.

Competitor: We know competitors are that firm must gain strategic advantage by positioning their offering against competitor offers.

Here Wal-Mart is the competitor of target company, which strategy is different one another of providing products at a very low price, to influenced with consumers in the economic crisis of 2008.This led’s to targets decline in market share as wall mart had a huge micro environment affects as a competitor as the low cost store.

Customer: Customers are those people who buy goods and services. as a period of reduced economic activity, unemployment rose and people started becoming more responsible with money by this result the consumer priority changed from fashionable to budgeted purchase. Since people known that target for style, fashionable in slightly higher price, in the end, they hurt themselves. In that situation target should have done a lot better of a job in providing customer value and satisfaction then Wal-Mart’s Customers would have stayed loyal if valued and satisfied.

Publics:  Target had a falling out among its various stakeholders, with the activist shareholder William Ackman, whose company lost 85% of the $2 billion invested in Target. Ackman not only chided target for  being ineffectual in dealing with the abrupt economic downturn but also accused the Target’s board of directors to be inexperienced and so, went on to ask to control 5 of the boards seats.
