Music Announcement

Hello Music Listeners --

Your syllabus mentions, on page one, the extra help session times and places available, and tomorrow is the last time we can use TC100 at 1:30 before the test for review and listening practice. Next Monday (Oct. 11) is Thanksgiving, and the following Monday (Oct. 18) is when we take our Test #1.

So, whoever wants to stay around after class tomorrow (Monday, Oct. 4) can ask questions and practice listening and clarifying some of our vocabulary from the Guide to Aural Analysis.

Matthew Pauls, our 'Mysterious Man' for the "Into the Woods" production on the weekend (great job, Matt!), will help me collect your project #1 proposals (informal) and one of your Concert Report Forms (to see how you're doing at the concerts). You'll get these back, with suggestions on your selected topic and your approach to it, and on improving your listening skills at our live concerts.

Matthew may be able to stay around and talk to some of you after class, but he usually has a voice master class and his vocal lesson on Monday afternoons, so can't stay too long. I'll plan to stick around (though a tuba player may come by for an instrument during that hour).

The next possibilities for some listening review are Wednesdays -- this week before class (at 11:30 in MB 104), and likewise next week (Oct 12).

Fridays we also have that time set aside, but THIS Friday (Oct. 8) is traditionally a day when many of you are already heading home for Thanksgiving and/or HS convocations. Therefore, we often have a much smaller class on Thanksgiving Friday. So, rather than penalize anyone for the upcoming holiday, I'm going to let you have a "library" hour to work on your project #1, or to do some review with study buddies. You can meet in our classroom at 12:30, or in MB104 at 11:30, or any other time and place that you'd like. :-) But we won't officially have a class this Friday the 8th. OK??
