Introduction

In 1991, The Federal Sentencing Guidelines for Organizations was enacted and it gives organizations incentives to police themselves by developing a corporate compliance plan (Petit, 1997). A Compliance plan is a written document that provides requirements that must be followed in an organization in order to decrease the number of employees who violated civil or criminal laws, to help reduce fines or penalties for breaking the law, and corporate probation. The compliance plan is the bible of the organization where it lists standards, procedures and what needs to be done in order to meet the requirements of any regulation and to maintain business integrity. The Compliance plans can, when properly implemented, strengthen operational efficiencies and economies. This plan ensures full compliance with all applicable laws, regulation, procedures and policies
