Preface I have written this literature search because of the fact that lots of amateur and elite football players are complaining about artificial turfs. Because for most clubs, such as my own football club, the normal natural training fields are completely bold in the winter months, and therefore there can barely been played on these pitches. This is yearly a very big problem in the sport. Artificial turf is a good solution, because there can always be played on. My football club has also an artificial turf. However, the very conservative football world seems not to keen with these artificial turfs because it would lead to more injuries. Lots of players doesn’t want to play on artificial turf, so are some of the players at my club. They rather go play on a very bad surface. I wanted to do research on this topic, therefore this literature search is going to look for evidence if artificial turf does lead to more injuries.
