Carrier Corporation Inputs Analysis

The open system theory and all related theory models are great tools that managers could use to better understand their organizational internal capabilities and abilities to confront change. Many organization throughout the years have come to realize that it is critical for them to understand their organizational behavior in order to better develop an efficient organization that not only operates, but it also function in a cohesive way with all its parts or internal groups. Organizations have to completely interact with a certain amount of inputs that would definitely affect the way they convert the inputs into an output that is in line with the organizational core strategy or mission.

A very well develop organization will be able to perform harmoniously to produce its output while collecting and processing the feedback data in order to make it stronger and more efficient. The bottom line is that organizational functioning is done by individuals that are parts of a group. These individuals need to work together in a variety of levels using the organization’s resources between their groups as well. This is critical as we try to analyze the organization’s “fit” or “congruence level”. The Congruence Models by Nadler and Tushman is he model I will be using when analyzing Carrier’s Corporations organizational inputs.

As we advance in this case study, I would first like to address all of the organizational inputs using the Congruence Model as reference followed by an analysis of Carrier’s inputs. To make us understand better we first have to make clear that the Congruence Model is based on four assumptions that are critical to understand and are tied together to the open system theory approach.
