Christmas Vacation

Christmas, annual Christian holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Most members of the Roman Catholic Church and followers of Protestantism celebrate Christmas on December 25, and many celebrate on the evening of December 24 as well. I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. At the first week of December, people are busy preparing their houses and put some decorations to it. There was a Christmas tree, a star hanging; also Christmas lights. Ninong and Ninang are busy in shopping for their inaanak. There was an exchange gifts between friends, families, dorm mates and classmates. In the church, there has a mass and also weeks before December 25 there have an advent celebration. An Aguinaldo mass and simbang gabi was also there were a lot of Christians are participating. I observed that a lot of kids really believe in Santa Claus and the gifts it puts in the socks. Giving of Christmas cards is still present during Christmas and also Christmas carols. Many families celebrated Christmas outside like in the other places or in some beaches. Fireworks are one of the cultures of Filipino and also preparing different dishes and viands. Lechon baboy was one of the best viand in the family during Christmas. Also, family reunions are much important. They gathered together and create fun in the family. Movie marathon was also one of the choices in the family. Some visited their love ones in the cemetery.Christmas customs around the world reflect the variety of cultures that celebrate the holiday.
