III- Background of the Study

Computer nowadays is already considered as one of the needs of humans in particular situations, such as: creating and manipulating data, gathering information, processing and retrieving of files, documentation, school and office work presentations, etc. It helps us humans do our work faster, more accurate and easier. Computer is also one of the updated technologies that we use and as technology increases, the use of mobile phones especially smartphones are already learned and used by us, humans.

The Faculty and The Registrar’s Office of Notre Dame of Tacurong College are being busy on their schedules and activities. Most of the time, they are having technical and human errors in computing and processing the grades of the students because the coding, submission and distribution of grades are manually done. The distribution of grades to the parents/guardians of the students is also manually done. The Registrar’s Office sends it through post mail and this is time consuming. Another problem is that some of the grades are not received by parents. Probably, the students get to receive the mail and when they see that it’s their grades, what they do is they tear it apart or hide it from their parents/guardians.

Grade Viewer Using Android Application for College Students of NDTC provides an accurate and efficient grade reports. On the other hand, it intends to perform the following operations: study and develop the manual operation by the office of the registrar; find out what are the circumstances that cause the delay of releasing of grades; what are the reasons why some grades are not...
