Taylors Wines is a wine company. It founded in 1969 by a man called Bill Taylor. It had a winemaking team to produce wines. This company has around 20 or more employees but less than 200, which included both full time and part time. In Australia, it can be defined as a medium size business. The mission statement of this company is ‘the wine is everything’. This easy will introduce the interviewee from the questionnaire and describe the organization in detail.

The interviewee is a Company director which is classified as a Top manager. Top managers are responsible for making organization-wide decisions and establishing those goals and plans that affect the organization. The definition of “company director”, we can assume that he directs the company. A top manager will spend most of their time organizing and planning. In order words, as a manager advance through the ranks, a top manager spends less and less time leading. Its definition tied to the interviewee. The interviewee is playing his role as a leader. A leader would appoint or emerge from within a work group, which matched ‘appoint outside the position’. Also, leader can influence others and has managerial authority, which matched ‘formal tertiary management qualifications and extensively influence others’. The interviewee tends to have different leadership style. First of all, he has ability to lift his staff to new levels of motivation, trusts his staff and leaves them space to grow. It refers to transformational leadership. Secondly, he considers his relationship with his subordinates as a two-way process of exchange and mutual influence. It refers to transactional leadership. Thirdly, he has vision of the organization’s future, able to explain his vision to others and able to express his vision, not just verbally, but through behavior. It refers to Visionary leadership. Fourthly, he is sensitive to subordinate needs, in order words, it refers to supportive leadership. Finally, he is willing to take risks...
