Administrator vs. Management

Working in a corporate structure I have come to see how support services and management have a comparable goal but an opposite challenge. All positions are made to coexist to make both a fine tuned machine both needing each other’s knowledge and expertise. I will emphasize each individual position and its primary and ultimate goal in its growth.

Support services often known as administration is the backbone of any corporate life, support sets the tone for the companies logistics, all client references, makes sure all office materials are supplied as well as many more responsibilities.

As many know support services consist as front desk reception, mailroom, maintenance as well as administrative assistants and operations. All these positions play a crucial role in a company’s long term growth. Front desk reception is the companies face it sets the tone for clients, when a new or existing client comes in it’s the reception that is on display.

The mailroom is the link between all it is responsible for all incoming and outgoing communication. The mailroom is the company’s eyes and ears. All information is passed through then for distribution and for communication. Maintenance is responsible of the company’s structure it maintains the cleanliness, all repairs and its special projects.

Administrative assistant is the company’s tone it makes sure that all files are updated all new and existing clients are properly keyed in correctly all contacts and executive decisions are put into mass communication and distributed. Depending on the individual skill levels administrative assistants can be into either into data entry to executive admin which takes care of an executive’s day to day schedule personal and professional life.

Operation is the heartbeat they maintain all key parts in support services. Its primary job is to oversee all aspects and continue a constant flow to the company’s day to day operation and its policy and procedures....
