"Heneral Luna" is a film based on the book "The rise and fall of Antonio Luna" written by Vivencio R. Jose and directed by Jerrold Tarog on September 9, 2015. It tells the biography of General Antonio Luna, a Commander of the Revolutionary Army during the Philippine-American war. In our class, we've discussed literary experience and elements of fiction. I can use what I've learned and apply it in the film. I never read any other written work by Vivencio R. Jose, and I have no knowledge about him. I've never watched a film like Heneral Luna that shows so much heroism and patriotism in a Filipino film.

There are nine categories of the elements of fiction. The first is characters: The film focuses on Heneral Antonio Luna, who is a short-tempered Filipino General. The Protagonist in the movie is Antonio Luna and the Antagonists are the Americans, Felipe Buencamino, Pedro Paterno, Capt. Janolino, and, in the latter part, Emilio Aguinaldo. The character of the General is round since he has undergone changes from studying chemistry and literature to becoming a doctor and brilliant writer and in the end a general. The other characters in the film are flat since they did not undergo change. The conflict in the movie comes from ‘others’ since Luna was in a war with the Americans and even his countrymen to fight for their freedom. His motivation is to free the Philippines and win freedom for his people. His flaws, temper and pride, get in his way, but he is reliable since he keeps his word and lives by it. The antagonists, on the other hand, are not since they will say something and do the exact opposite.

The second category is the narrator point of view, which, in this film, is the third person as an omniscient narrator since the narrator is aware of different times, people, places, and events in the past, present, and future. Also, the narrator focuses on not just one character. The third and fourth categories are language and dialogue - Filipino and English are used...
