Service Project Proposal 

“Success  has  nothing  to  with  what  you  gain   in  life  or  accomplish  for  yourself.  It’s  what 

you  do  for  others.”(Danny Thomas) The organization that I would help is the Frisco Independent 

School District; because who better to help than the future of our nation.  

A  possible  community  service  project  that  we  could  do  for  the  community  as  a whole is 

to  get  a  group  of  NHS  members  to  go  and  help   with  events  such  as  field  day,  carnivals,  book 

fairs,  and  talent  shows  at  local  frisco  elementary  schools.  To  do  this  we  would  have  to  work  in 

coordination  with  a  school  and  to  plan  out  what  the  dates  for  these  events  would  be.  After   we 

find  out  what  day  said  event  would  be  occurring,  we  would  have  to  create  a  sign­up  sheet  to 

make  sure that we have enough students to help out. Once we’re at the event we could go outside 

and  help  set  up  things  like  the  bouncy  house   and  the  dunk  tank.  In  conjunction  to setting things 

up  is  we  could  manage  events,   like  the  water  balloon  toss,  three  legged  race,  and  tug­of­war. 

Ensuring  that  all  the  kids  are   having  a  good  time,  and  learning  how  to  cooperate  with  one 

another.   

  The  reason  I  feel  that  this  would  be  a  commendable  service  project  is  because  not  only 

would  we  be  helping  the  community  by  lessening  the  workload  on  the  already  overworked 

teachers,  but  we   would   be  doing  it  in  a  manner that is fun and interactive for everyone involved. 

I  genuinely  believe  that helping kids is the  best thing to do because in turn this will cause a chain 

reaction,  and  they  will  eventually  grow  up  wanting  to  help  the  community.  What  kids  are 

exposed to their entire life influences their character in the future.
