Jesus and Muhammad

Very few people have made an impact on this world as Jesus and Muhammad have. These are two very prominent names in Christianity and Islam today. They were born in different times; however, they served very similar purposes during their lifetime. Together, they have influenced the lives of more people in the last couple thousand years than any other. Both are seen as the main pillars of their respective religions and are highly sought out religious men in the midst of their followers. Muhammad helped spread the word of Islam, meanwhile Jesus was as his own responsible for the encouragement of Christianity. They later became known for the individual roles they played in the founding and strengthening of each religion. Still today, their message is being carried out.

There is no known date as to when Jesus, the son of God, was born to the Virgin Mary and Joseph. Jesus was thought to have been conceived within the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. Joseph, who was Virgin Mary’s fiancé at that time, was instructed by an angel of God to continue with his coordination with the marriage. Shortly after they wed, Mary and Joseph had to travel to their ancestral city of Bethlehem for a census being taken by the ruling Roman Empire. Jesus is said to have been born in a stable among animals, because there was no room at the Inn for Mary and Joseph when they arrived at Bethlehem.

Nothing more is known of Jesus after his birth until he was about twelve years old. It is said he traveled with his parents on their yearly trip to Jerusalem for Passover. He became separated from his parents and they later found him in the Temple discussing the Torah with Rabbis. Even at twelve years of age, Jesus had immense understanding of the Jewish tradition and a close personal connection with God.
