In a workplace is inevitable that employee’s indiscipline, lack of loud conversation polite speech, poor personal hygiene, also are breeding grounds for conflict. The increase in the level and effect of workplace conflict illustrates the importance of dispute resolution processes to resolve problems. There are many benefits to using dispute resolution processes in the workplace. We believe organizations should have a dispute resolution process everyone knows about, respects and uses.

How shall we define conflict?

Kenneth Boulding defined conflict in 1962, as, "a situation of competition in which the parties are aware of the incompatibility with the wishes of the other." (Capozzoli, 1995, p.28) In theory, conflict, like water and fire, is neither good nor bad. Unlike water or fire, however, conflict is not something that can be directly touched weighed or seen-it lies in the minds of the people who are in conflict. The results of conflict can be seen, however, when it shows itself in arguing, brooding, or fighting.

Factors that contribute to conflict in the supervisory system

It is important to note that conflict in interpersonal relationships is inevitable due to the interdependency that exists within such relationships. The definition of conflict offered by Hocker and Wilmot (1995) underscores the role interdependency plays in the creation and maintenance of conflict: “Conflict is an expressed struggle between at least two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce rewards, and interference from the other party in achieving their goals” (Alan W. K 2003 p. 20). Workplace sometimes unavoidable between their colleagues conflict, meanwhile we have to do with a tendency to avoid coughing and hope to "keep the peace", then we will personal decisions they do not clash, contention, and conciliation, compromise and positive cooperation.
