1. Discuss how personal differences and preference can impact organizational ethics.

One cannot talk about ethics without mentioning values. Values and ethics are essential to any

organization those functioning in leadership positions are no exception. When a person states

values and ethics, the terms are both significant and wide-range. Individuals must focus on the

professional viewpoints pertinent in career success. Values and ethics are one of the most

important characteristics of an individual. Basically, they define who we are and what we

believe. There are many determinant factors of our values and ethics. Culture, religion, and many

other factors affect our beliefs. Many times our values and ethics can clash with different people

who hold different views and beliefs.

2. Discuss how organizational policies and procedures can impact ethics.

Policies rules and procedures can do much to reduce, to guide and help individual team and

resolve ethical problem. Public policy is defined by Webster’s as the basic policy or set of

policies forming the foundation of public law.

Analyzing the scenario Valerie faced and in regard of the law of immigration of the country she

might left the country if she failed in her decision; Objectively the immigration polices allowed

her to work as a permanent resident but it cannot grants her to keep her job if she is fired from

her job for any reason relevant of the company policy or the rule if she get a layoff.

Valerie despite her willing to react she cannot do it immediately because her eventual layoff

meant that she do leave the country .The Federal law discharge as an exception to the

“employment at Will” that an employer may not fire...
