At&T Inc. Ethics and Compliance

AT&T has been around for more than a century, they provide internet, cable, and wireless. They have made huge advances in the communications industry, including introducing the iPhone, ipad and u-verse. They have the largest international coverage of any wireless carrier, as well as the largest Wi-Fi network. AT&T employee’s hundreds of thousands people and are very diverse. They strive on supporting their communities as well as their employees. Their code of conduct is impeccable and will be deeply discussed later in the paper. In addition to going over the different code of conducts, this paper will also discuss AT&T financial performance. This includes the quick ratios, current ratios, net profit margin, asset turn over and their return on equity during the past two years.

The board of directors in AT&T Inc. encourages ethical behaviors according to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The company complies with applicable laws and regulations and respects the ethics and morals that govern the finance environment. AT&T has a code of ethics that sets the policies and procedure for every member in the organization. AT&T has a code of business conduct that applies to its business behaviors which include financial ethics. The finance department has identified the investors’ relations and made a clear definition of the financial ethics. The financial ethics are included in the code of ethics. The financial ethics are in accordance to the SEC regulations and stipule good ethics and morals. AT&T Inc. code of ethics had mentioned in order such financial ethics: honest and ethical conduct, disclosure, compliance, reporting and accountability, and confidentiality (AT&T, 2010).
