Acknowledgments
First and foremost, I thank my parents for the constant support that they have given me
throughout my life. It’s only a privileged few who get to experience the love and support that I
have received from my parents. Through the ups and the downs, they stand beside me and
guide me through my life. Without them, I don’t think I would be the person I am today,
someone whom I am proud of.
Just as important as the previous acknowledgment, I thank God for being my friend and
guardian in times of need, as well as in times of abundance. I have learned that it is always
important to remain grounded as you can never be quite sure when the road will become a bit
bumpy.
Hannelie Kruger for being a wonderful promoter and someone who I think will be a friend for a
long time to come. I love to surround my journey through life with people such as Hannelie,
someone whom I respect and admire, and who has been so kind as to see the potential in me
even when I may have not seen it. I do feel privileged that you accepted me as your student and
I can safely say that not many people would have endured being a study leader at the same
time as giving birth. Respect!
Dr. Martin Kidd for refreshing me on statistics 101 and always...
