Cold Room& Equipment Upgrade

Project Proposal

Genetics Pharma is a biotechnology company is a leading biotech company which leads the effort on cutting edge technology to fight diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis. The company has a robust pipeline and has filed for drug approval for 3 of its drug compounds this year. The company’s cold storage facility is in need of another cold room to keep up with the business needs. Having additional cold room storage capacity will allow the company to support the clinical and commercial demand. This project will allow more storage capacity for raw materials and finished goods. Also, this project will include new mechanical equipment such as compressors, condensers, and control panels, which will be housed inside facility. Currently all cold room equipment is at the end of its useful life and stored on the roof of the building which leads to breakdown of the equipment due to extreme weather conditions and ultimately temperature excursions of the cold rooms. This leads to delays in production, and sending material to clinical sites which ultimately could have patient impact. Equipment being stored outside has shortened the life span and increased maintenance cost considerably. The new mechanical equipment and space will provide improved equipment maintainability, greater energy efficiency, and extended equipment life span. The new equipment and cold room is crucial for the the future expansion of the company. The new interior equipment room will match cross site cold room systems and reduce risk, benefit the facility, and improves manufacturing supply chain capabilities.
