“Nothing is impossible the word itself says I’m possible” (Audrey Hepburn). These words were said by Audrey Hepburn. Hepburn was one of Hollywood’s greatest style icons and one of the world’s most successful actresses (Dwyer, Shawn "Audrey Hepburn 2015). Through all the struggles that Hepburn and her family been through she still managed to be successful.

Audrey Kathleen van Heemstra Ruston was born in Brussels, Belgium on May 04, 1929.  she was different from a lot of kids when growing up she was a shy, but had a wild imagination. Hepburn attended an academy for girls in Kent from 1935-1938 (Audrey Hepburn).Hepburn was humble and not flashy. She did not view herself in an elevated light because she was an actress. She didn’t think anything of herself. She even refused to write an autobiography because she thought she didn’t have an interesting story. As a child her mother sent her to the Germanic nation at the beginning of the war to live with relatives during her stay Hepburn watched her relatives get murdered (“Audrey Hepburn”1993).In 1935, Hepburn’s father walked out on the family. Hepburn later related his leaving as "the most traumatic event in my life." in 1938 her parents Baroness Ella van Heemstra and Irish banker John Victor Anthony Hepburn-Ruston divorced .after the war ended teen Hepburn and her family moved to England. Hepburn had the reputation of being a humble, kind and charming person, who lived the philosophy of putting others before her self. (New York Times, 1993)

Despite her upbringing and her parents divorce Audrey still had to overcome huge obstacles in her youth including the feeling of abandonment when her father left the family and the horrors and difficulties of life during World War II suffering from malnutrition and respiratory problems.
