Victims Project

1. Ed Klein- In the case of Ed Klein I do not think that their in any blame on the part of the victim. Mr. Klein was attacked for calling the homes of students that were continiouslly disruptive in his music class. He was threatened and later attacked in the course of doing his job effectively. It was his duty to contact the parent of the disruptive students, in hopes of changing their attitudes towards the course and also in preservation of the education others are trying to obtain in the classroom. The secondary victims in this case are the students and his family. In the interview Klein expressed that he had learned his limitations partially due to his family’s request for him not to work in high schools anymore. He stated that he did not realizes the baggage he brought home. And the students that were not involved are missing out on a teacher that states, “the kids threw a resource [him] out the window”.

Frank Burd- Mr. Burd also does not share any of the responsibility in the actions that lead to him being beaten to unconcoiusness. Again Mr. Burd was acting in course of his job. The students disruptive IPOD music was hindering the edduactions of others and it he was breaking school policy by having it on inside of the classroom. Also Mr. Burd stated that he knew and liked the sudent involved, so he did not raise his voice in a nasty tone towards the student. As for the second offender, the actually assailant, who was in the hallway leads one to believe that it was possibly a set up. In which case Mr. Burd was definitely not at faut because his actions were in a way provoked. The students are the secondary victims in this case because from the interview one can tell how much passion he had for teaching and greatful he was for the outreach he received from those he had helped over the years. The secondary victims are those that will miss out on that.

2. Ed Klein- Ed klein’s experience with the Juvenile Justice System was not good at all....
