Decisions in Paradise Business Scenario Part One
This paper will define the issues that appear in the Decisions in Paradise business scenario. It will discuss the forces that are involved in formulation of the problem that Nix has to do deal with in his/her first new assignment. Kava is an island country located in the South Pacific that is going through difficult times. This essay will focus on identifying the problems Kava faces, discuss the forces that are involved in formulation of the problems Kava are having, describe the organizational and environmental obstacles in a way that considers various key stakeholders that will be impacted by the decisions, and discuss the critical thinking in the decision-making process. Also Kava’s government and other political as well as environmental organizations will have an impact on the execution of solutions regarding Kava’s problems.
Howard County Health Department Presence in Kava
The Health Department is the sole government agency responsible for improving the health of Howard County. By State and County authority, the Health Department is charged with enforcement of certain federal, state and county laws and regulations (Howard County, MD Government, 2007). The Health Department has an emergency preparedness department, wellness department, healthcare department, environmental department and etc. Howard County Health Department can provide many services to assist Kava in overcoming their problems and moving forward. This assistance is right in line with the Health Department’s mission statement, “To Promote, Preserve and Protect the Health of all Howard County Residents" (Howard County, MD Government, 2007).
